Yusuf Hussain

Mr. Hussain is the Head of Risk for Gemini Trust Company, LLC. Prior to joining Gemini, Mr. Hussain was a Vice President/Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in the Risk division. Prior to that time, Mr. Hussain was a Manager at Ernst & Young in the Risk Advisory practice. Mr. Hussain earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Macaulay Honors College from the City University of New York.

Dana Syracuse

Perkins Coie Partner, Dana Syracuse concentrates his practice on blockchain, fintech, e-commerce and financial services sectors. He works with clients on regulatory, business and product counseling, with a particular focus on issues related to custody and exchange of digital assets. He also advises a range of clients on federal and state regulatory, compliance and enforcement matters, complex bank regulatory issues, including, privacy, data and cyber security, anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act and Know-Your-Customer matters, consumer protection as well as contract drafting and negotiations. Lately he has been focusing on the regulatory considerations associated with the formation and operation of virtual currency trading platforms as well as advising financial services organizations on issues related to the transfer, custody and storage of virtual currency assets. Dana is a regular speaker on industry related topics and, with Perkins Coie colleague Josh Boehm, he recently co-authored the white paper “Anti-Money Laundering Regulation of Privacy-Enabling Cryptocurrencies.”

Jack Gavigan

Jack leads the Electric Coin Company’s regulatory engagement efforts. He has a background in financial technology, cyber security and trading systems, gained at companies like Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley (where he also worked as a trader). Jack has previously advised the UK government on digital currencies and blockchain technology.

Maria Filipakis

Maria Filipakis is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of the Topside Group, providing strategic and regulatory advice to companies in the financial services sector on regulatory, compliance, and enforcement and issues. Maria was the first ever Executive Deputy Superintendent of the Capital Markets Division at the New York State Department of Financial Services. She served on Governor Cuomo’s Cyber Security Advisory Board, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors Emerging Payments Task Force and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners Cybersecurity Task Force.
