ECC’s North Star: Building a world-class UX for ZEC

Last week, in our tertile planning sessions, we set a multi-year “North Star” and codified our plans across departments for the next four months. Everything we do will be in support of this focus: To deliver a world-class user experience for ZEC.

Coin-holder poll: results summary

In ECC’s coin-holder poll, participants strongly supported changing Zcash’s mining algorithm away from proof of work as their first priority as measured by weight, receiving 85% of the weighted vote.

Zcash coin-holder polling open now

ECC has opened its non-binding, coin-weighted ZEC-holder poll ahead of NU5 activation, to gather sentiment regarding development priorities for Zcash and Chris Burniske’s proposal to amend ZIP 1014.

New Release 4.5.0

The code preparations for the Network Upgrade 5 consensus rules are finished and included in this release. The following ZIPs are being deployed: ZIP 216: Require Canonical Jubjub Point Encodings

ECC timeline updates and planning for 2022

And we’re planning for a big January release of the Halo Arc product suite, including the NU5-compatible Zcashd, an updated ECC Reference Wallet, updated mobile wallet SDKs, and features that will enable Zcash to be Shielded by Default.
